Doing Everything “Right” but Still Don’t Feel Good

Why Women’s Health Is About Listening, Not Just Trying Harder

Many women believe they’re living a healthy life.

You’re exercising regularly.

You’re eating well most of the time.

You’re doing all the things that are meant to support your health and wellbeing.

And yet… you still don’t feel good.

You may be experiencing bloating, low energy, or persistent fatigue.

You’re moving your body, but you don’t feel strong, confident, or happy in it.

You’re doing the work — but something still feels off.

This is incredibly common for women, especially in midlife, and it can leave you feeling confused and frustrated.

When Healthy Habits Aren’t Enough

Here’s an important truth about women’s health that often gets overlooked:

You can be doing many healthy things and still feel unwell if those choices are no longer aligned with what your body needs.

True health isn’t just about ticking boxes or following the latest wellness advice.

It’s about listening to your body, understanding its signals, and responding with intention.

Many women reach a point — particularly during perimenopause or midlife — where old habits stop working. What once felt supportive may now feel draining.

And deep down, most of us already know this.

Intuition and Women’s Health: You Already Know What Needs to Change

Most of the time, we intuitively know what our body is asking for.

We feel it in the tiredness.

We notice it in digestion issues, bloating, or lack of energy.

We sense it when motivation drops or joy feels harder to access.

But knowing what needs to change doesn’t always mean acting on it.

Why?

Because change is uncomfortable.

Why Discomfort Is Part of Growth

I know it’s uncomfortable — truly.

And it’s okay.

Discomfort doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. In fact, it usually means you’re right on the edge of growth.

The truth is, there is no path without discomfort. We are always choosing between different types of discomfort:

  • The discomfort of staying stuck

  • The discomfort of ignoring your body’s signals

  • The discomfort of not moving forward

Or:

  • The discomfort of change

  • The discomfort of stepping out of your comfort zone

  • The discomfort of trying something new

Growth lives in the second option.

Your Body Is Communicating, Not Failing

Your body is not working against you.

It’s communicating with you.

Symptoms like bloating, fatigue, low energy, or dissatisfaction with your body are not signs of failure — they are messages.

Your body is saying: something needs attention here.

Ignoring those signals doesn’t make them disappear.

Listening to them — with compassion and curiosity — creates real change.

This is especially important for women navigating midlife health, hormonal changes, and perimenopause, when the body’s needs naturally shift.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone Leads to True Wellbeing

Stepping out of your comfort zone can feel frightening.

There’s fear of the unknown.

Fear of letting go of old habits.

Fear of what growth might require of you.

But on the other side of that fear is something powerful:

More energy.

Greater clarity.

A stronger, more connected relationship with your body.

Not just feeling the effects of change — but feeling yourself grow through the process.

This is where confidence is built.

This is where embodiment happens.

This is where true women’s wellbeing begins.

The Role of Support in Women’s Transformation

One of the biggest reasons women struggle to make lasting changes isn’t lack of motivation or discipline.

It’s lack of support.

Support to explore what’s really going on beneath the symptoms.

Support to take aligned, sustainable action.

Support to move through discomfort without judgment or pressure.

You don’t need fixing.

You’re not broken.

You’re simply being invited into a new level of awareness, health, and self-trust.

Choosing Your Next Chapter

So here’s the question to gently sit with:

Which discomfort are you choosing right now?

The discomfort of staying where you are —

or the discomfort of growth, change, and expansion?

Your body already knows the answer.

And when you’re ready to listen, support is available.

This is the kind of listening and support I offer through bodywork, women’s circles, and one-on-one coaching. If you’re curious, feel free to get in touch.
